Beta view of the new web live view / playback system

Hello Bluecherry community,

Introducing the beta view of our new web live view/playback system! This new feature is designed to provide a seamless and user-friendly experience for our customers. We understand the importance of being able to quickly and easily access your footage, and this new system will do just that.

So, what can you expect from the beta view? Let us break it down for you:

1. Improved user interface: We have revamped the entire layout to make it more intuitive and easy to navigate. With a clean and modern design, you can easily find the footage you need and control playback with just a few clicks.

2. Customizable views: You now have the option to customize your view by choosing the number of cameras you want to see on the screen at once.

* TImeline view is currently a work in progress, stand by!

[Server] 3.1.9 released

We’re pleased to announce the release of Bluecherry v3.1.9, which includes important fixes to improve system stability and reliability.

🔧 Fixes & Improvements:

  • Fixed camera hangs that could cause video streams to freeze.

  • Improved shutdown process to ensure an orderly shutdown upon receiving a SIGTERM signal.

  • Resolved crontab cleanup issue to prevent repeated removal of root crontab entries during upgrades.

  • Fixed mailer.php errors when sending emails with an empty recipients list.

The package can be installed through our standard package repositories. Existing installations can be updated using standard system update procedures.

What is Not Supported

While our support plans are comprehensive, the following are not included:

  1. Hardware Failures or Repairs: Troubleshooting or replacing defective hardware.
  2. Custom Software Development: Requests for custom features or modifications.
  3. Third-Party Software or Hardware: Assistance with non-Bluecherry software or hardware.
  4. On-Site Support: All support is provided remotely.
  5. Non-Contract Work: For clients without a support contract, support is billed at $100/hour, and updates are charged separately ($200/server).

[Server] Version 3.1.4 Released

We are excited to announce the release of Bluecherry DVR software versions 3.1.4. These updates bring important fixes and improvements to enhance the stability and performance of your surveillance system.

What's New

Version 3.1.4

  • Critical Fix: Updated FFmpeg to version to address a serious memory leak issue.
  • System Improvement: The /var/run/bluecherry directory is now created during postinstallation, ensuring proper system functionality.
  • Log Management: Resolved issues with log rotation, improving long-term system performance.
  • Web UI Enhancement: Fixed an error in the user management interface for a smoother administrative experience.
  • Expanded OS Support: Added compatibility for Debian 12, Ubuntu 23.10, Ubuntu 24.04, Linux Mint 21.2, and 21.3.
  • Performance Upgrade: Updated FFmpeg to version 6.1.1 for improved video processing capabilities.

[Client] Version 3.0.19 (Stable) Released

We're excited to announce a significant update to the Bluecherry Client, bringing a host of new features and enhancements.

One of the standout additions is the ability to magnify events, allowing for better visibility and detail analysis. We've also introduced an option to collapse the timeline, increasing overall visibility of your surveillance feeds. We've resolved timezone issues, ensuring clients in different time zones now function correctly. Linux users will be pleased to know that we've completely rewritten the video rendering engine, addressing previous crashes and usability concerns.

The timeline of events has received a major overhaul. Motion events are now highlighted for easy identification, and we've added convenient 'Previous' and 'Next' buttons for seamless navigation. An automatic skip feature for empty periods has been implemented, along with a new filter for event types (motions, continuous, or all). We've also improved keyboard shortcuts for more efficient operation. These updates include adaptations for different screen interfaces and the implementation of an events time filter, making the Bluecherry Client more versatile and user-friendly than ever before.

[Server] Version 3.1.2 (Stable) released

We are excited to announce the release of our latest version, Bluecherry Server 3.1.2. This update brings a highly requested feature that we know many of you have been waiting for - support for Ubuntu 24.04 and Debian 12!

We understand that many of our users have been eagerly anticipating the release of these new operating systems, and we are happy to finally be able to offer support for them. Our team has been hard at work to ensure that Bluecherry Server is fully compatible with Ubuntu 23+ and Debian 12, so you can continue to use our product seamlessly on the latest platforms.

Bluecherry Version 3 Client Beta 11 Released

We are excited to announce the release of Bluecherry Client v3.0.0 Beta 11! This version of our software is full of new features that will make it easier than ever to manage your Bluecherry surveillance system. First, you can now see frame rate information overlaid on the screen, so you can quickly identify if cameras are experiencing issues. Additionally, we’ve added overlays for video information, including ‘Live’, ‘Delayed’, and ‘Timed out’. We’ve also included a new option to import and export layouts. This will make it much easier to save and re-use your favorite viewing arrangements. We hope these new features help you get the most out of Bluecherry Client. Bluecherry Version 3 Client Beta 10 Released, Now With Linux Support!

We’re excited to announce the release of Bluecherry Version 3 Client Beta 10! 

This release comes with several new features and updates that we know you’ll be excited about. We are now introducing support for Linux (via deb packages, RPM packages or AppImage). As well as this, we have a Windows release available. Finally, you can now download an Android release from here: GitHub. 

Our team has been hard at work making sure Bluecherry Version 3 Client Beta 10 offers a better experience for our users. 

Here are some of the key features and updates you can expect: 

• Improved performance and stability 
• Timeline view with multiple camera playback (up to 6)
• Added support for Linux

  • Fixed a crash on iOS and remove usage of deprecated APIs
  • Fixed some state leaks that could lead to crashes
  • Fixed gestures in TimelineView; Do not mount events on TimelineView
  • Listen to video duration changes on video viewer, and display the correct event duration
  • Keep the state of the videos in the grid view. This is done to ensure the video texture will not be reinitialized for some reason, such as reordering or adding a new device to the grid

  • Several performance improvements on events:
    • Previously, only 50 events were loaded at once. Now, 1000 events are loaded

    • Added the Refresh feature on desktop
